Abstract The teaching of art embraces daily part of the cultural heritage as instrument capable of instruction, form and enable social agents. However, often the works of art are not presented and worked by the professors who ministrate the subjects of art as cultural objects sensitive to time and in need of protection not only for the competent authorities, but also the comunity. Mind the importance of education to the integrity of the cultural objects, this article aims the reflection about the roll of the arts professor as agent in this process, their boundaries of action and origins of the practices executed during class, indicating the structure of its formation in tertiary education as pioneer of this phenomenon. As the conclusion, it was possible to determine an infimal insertion, in the art teaching, of themes related to Cutural Heritage due to a deficit of formative subjects about the patrimonial theme during the period of Visual Arts graduation. Consiste em um registro vivo de um período específico e marcante para uma comunidade. Infelizmente apenas seis profissionais entregaram as respostas, refletindo desta forma a uma amostragem desta realidade.
